Arboricultural Consultants
CBA Trees strong arboricultural consultancy team has a wealth of experience and knowledge, with consultants working from our Hampshire and Essex offices.
Stefan Rose BSc (Hons), TechCert (Arbor.A), TechArbor.A, joined CBA Trees in 1998 as a junior surveyor and having gained extensive knowledge and a wealth of experience over the years including Professional Tree Inspectors Certification (LANTRA), has progressed to Principal Consultant. He has considerable experience in working as a locum for Local Authorities, assessing new and extant Tree Preservation Orders, and continues to work on a number of major development projects nationwide.
As our Principal Consultant, Stefan undertakes a full range of arboricultural services from health and safety audits to BS5837:2012 tree surveys. Having recently undertaken decay detection training with the latest resistograph, the IML Resi PD400 Drill, he is able to accurately assess the extent of decay.
He provides expert advice and guidance on initial feasibility site assessments to full scale planning applications and is accomplished at producing implication assessments and method statements for the submission of planning applications, working with both individual home owners and within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve successful arboricultural outcomes.
Dominic Poston F.Arbor.A. MICFor, CEnv, Prof Dip (RFS), BSc (Hons), HND joined CBA Trees in 2015 as a Senior Consultant and brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. He has over 20 years’ experience of undertaking a variety of arboricultural assessments for a wide range of public, corporate and private clients.
Having attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture, a Higher National Diploma in Landscape Management and the prestigious Royal Forestry Society’s Professional Diploma in Arboriculture, Dominic is now a fellow of the Arboricultural Association, a Chartered Arboriculturist and Chartered Environmentalist and has attained Registered Consultant status with the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
He has considerable experience as an advisor to planning teams, currently acting as lead arboriculturist on three high volume (<1000units) active development sites in East Anglia as well as several smaller developments nationwide.
Dominic has appeared numerous times at planning related Public Inquiries, and also undertakes advocacy at Inquiries on behalf of Rule 6 parties. Additionally he has been instructed as an expert witness on several occasions to assist local authorities with prosecutions for offences under Tree Preservation Order legislation, and has appeared at Crown Court.
Alexa Monk TechCert (Arbor.A), NCH.Arb has a background in tree surgery, running her own small business for many years. Working with CBA Trees for over 15 years, Alexa is an experienced surveyor both for BS5837:2012 tree surveys and arboricultural health and safety surveys.

The team is supported by the latest in software packages, including an electronic data capture, mapping and management software package which greatly improves survey productivity and efficiency and ensures that the management of trees and tree safety is a much more straightforward task.
